Being in the heart of policy and legislative reform related to information technology, and being advisors to the Ministry of Telecommunications and E government Program, the firm is recognized as a leader in the field. During the past years, we participated in most of the legal and regulatory reforms that have occurred, ranging from Amendments to the Telecommunications Law, The Law on the Deployment of Information Technology Resources in Governmental Entities (E-Government Act) and the amendments to Electronic Transactions Law. Our team members have major participation in the biggest public-private reform initiative “the REACH initiative” aiming at the development and promotion of the IT sector in Jordan as well as reform of regulatory and legal frameworks. We worked closely with all concerned entities on the improvement of e-commerce laws, our team prepared many studies on the legal framework to e-signature authentication infrastructure , e-payment , cyber crimes, internet content regulation and data privacy.

Highlights - The Firm advised many software development companies on legal validity of electronic records produced by their developed software and applications. - Advised the first mobile-payment company in Jordan on all aspects of electronic transactions and evidentiary value of electronic signatures. - We examined a pilot governmental e-procurement system for conformity with the requirements of the E-transactions Law; and if such is producing authenticated electronic records and electronic signatures accepted as evidence in court. - Prepared a study on regulatory and legal obstacles to e-procurement. - Advised the first national e-payment gateway in Jordan on legality and legislative barriers regarding the establishment and operation of such and drafted relevant subscription agreements - Advised legislative committees on electronic signature legislation. - Acted for content development companies and content delivery platforms. - Conducted a study on digital signature and legislative requirements for PKI infrastructure. |
